Navigating the rising tide of uncertainty - London & South East Private Equity Forum - RESCHEDULED - 2 JULY 2020 (NOT 20 March 2020)

Date: Thursday 2 July 2020

Time: 4.30pm - 9.00pm

Venue:Central London, location to be confirmed

Our next PwC London and South East Private Equity Forum, originally planned for 20 March has been rescheduled to 2 July due to the current coronavirus situation and our firm's policy.  The July forum will conincide with our Summer Evening Networking Event, as well as talking to some of the findings from our latest global CEO survey which we believe are relevant to PE backed companies, like yours.  The forum will have a lens on disruption and what this looks like for businesses, climate change and some practical guidance on managing this as well as the current economic uncertainty.  If you would like to register for the 2 July forum, please register below.

We chose these three areas from our CEO survey to discuss with you because:

  • Businesses today operate in an unpredictable environment. Nothing is staying the same - whether that be geopolitical, economic, regulatory and technological shifts. Traditional practices are been disrupted, threatening growth and hindering bold decision-making. 30% of jobs are at risk of automation by the 2030s.
  • Economic uncertainty is the single biggest concern among UK CEO’s this year.  With many companies tackling this head-on with a series of practical and purposeful measures intended to protect what they’ve got, while identifying new opportunities to grow. There is a focus on upskilling workforces and investing in people to accelerate digital transformation, drive higher productivity and build a stronger culture.

  • 64% of UK CEOs are concerned that climate change poses a threat to their organisations’ growth prospects. That’s up a huge 20% from last years survey - and means climate change has now entered UK CEOs’ top 10 list of concerns this year. Also interesting that in the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual risk report, this year, for the first time, environmental concerns filled all of the top five spots on the WEF’s and we have seen a flurry of corporate commitments to environmental action, with “net zero” rapidly joining the corporate lexicon.

The forums are a great opportunity to network with your peers - as these forums are aimed at the management teams, board members and directors of PE backed companies. If you would like to see what we have covered in the past - our March 2019 forum was on Raising Debt in Uncertain Times, July 2019 featured our PE Trade Fair and in November 2019 we focused on value creation and workforce of the future - PwC PE Forum - November 2019.

We hope to see you there on 2 July.
