Event details

Date 14 July 2021
Time 09.30 - 10.30
Location Virtual event
Drying lake effect of extreme weather and heating wave on summer, Climate change and Drought impact

We have selected to focus our latest forum on the topical subject of Environment, Social and Governance (“ESG”) and have chosen to focus on two key areas for PE backed businesses, the benefits and challenges of Net Zero Commitments and the new tax on plastic packaging.

The world is facing unprecedented challenges in the face of climate change and growing inequality. Businesses, governments, the financial community and other stakeholders see the 2020s as the decade for action, with many setting out major new commitments to achieving Net Zero emissions. We will discuss the implications, opportunities and threats to businesses. Acting responsibly is no longer a choice - it’s a business imperative.

We will also discuss the new tax on plastic packaging. The UK Government is expected to introduce a new tax on plastic packaging from 1 April 2022. Whether you manufacture plastic packaging or whether you are an importer of packaged goods, the UKs proposed Plastic Packaging Tax could have significant implications for you.

As ever, there will also be the opportunity for Q&A with your peers.
