Strategy business areas

If you have a particular preference on business area or location, you'll have the opportunity to express this during the application process. Please note, preferences are considered but not guaranteed.

You may not have a preference at this stage, and that's okay too. As you go through the recruitment process, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the roles we have available in the business category you’ve applied to. After you’ve successfully completed your assessment centre, you’ll be matched to a role that aligns with your interests and ambitions.

As a graduate in Strategy Consulting, you’ll work in project teams on a wide range of strategic questions, moving between industries, clients and challenges. You could be researching a new market, evaluating policy options, testing an investment case, analysing competitors, considering the right strategic operating model or helping turn complex findings into clear recommendations for senior decision markets.

You’ll learn to structure ambiguous problems, form a clear point of view and develop communication skills needed to solve complex questions.

Within Strategy Consulting you could be allocated a role within Strategy& or Public Sector Strategy.

Strategy& is PwC’s global strategy consulting business. We work with chief executives, leadership teams and investors on the choices that matter most to their organisations, from defining where to grow and how to compete, to shaping portfolios, pursuing deals and creating long-term value.

Our Public Sector Strategy specialists help government and public sector organisations set priorities, make complex choices and improve outcomes for citizens and service users. The team applies rigorous strategy consulting approaches to challenges shaped by policy, public value, funding constraints and diverse stakeholder needs.

Our Economics Consulting specialists help businesses, investors and public bodies solve complex challenges. Combining economics, strategy and deep sector expertise, we help clients make better decisions in a rapidly changing policy and regulatory environment. The team combines strategic thinking with economic analysis and deep sector expertise.

As a graduate you could analyse how markets are performing, help shape regulatory submissions, assess the impact of new policy, design customer and pricing strategies, or develop the case for major investment decisions. You’ll develop strong quantitative and commercial skills while learning how economic insight can shape real-world decisions.

Please note that to work in Economics Consulting, 50% of your degree modules need to be Economics based.
