Develop your technical and strategic skills for a successful career in cyber security.
In PwC UK’s cyber security team, we’re passionate about building a secure digital society. We are in a unique position to work with organisations to drive a tangible difference to their cyber security and are recognised by Forrester as a leading adviser in this area. We also have a role to play in researching and disrupting both our industry and the threat actors who target our society.
To do so we work with business leaders, government, educators, regulators and industry groups.
Through our research and security intelligence, we identify emerging cyber security risks and the evolution of existing threats. Our ability to connect deep technical insight with our knowledge of business and people means we can build understanding of the security frontline in the boardroom. This provides the clarity they need to lead their organisation securely and effectively.
We work alongside our clients to embed cyber security throughout their organisation: building resilience, protecting sensitive data, and enabling them to focus on achieving their ambitions.
You'll be part of a growing practice, working with our advisory or specialist team of cyber security experts and professionals. Whatever your area of expertise, you’ll have the opportunity to join like-minded security professionals. Find out more about our teams below.

In Cyber Security Advisory, we address some of the most urgent issues faced by business. As organisations seek to provide more innovation to customers and increase the use of online services, the scale and sophistication of cyber-attacks is evolving rapidly.
We help our clients understand the nature of cyber attacks and the impact on their business, by identifying security risks and planning effective ways to address these. We support client leadership teams to define their risk appetite and a proportionate target state of cyber capability and maturity to deliver it; we define operating and governance models to make cyber security a sustainable capability which responds to evolving business priorities; we also help clients define and assure complex control solutions to help them manage their risks.
You'll predominantly focus on consulting engagements for clients in the areas of transformation, risk advisory and mergers and acquisitions. You’ll be working across all industry sectors, on national accounts from one of our national hubs local to you. There may also be the opportunity to work on some of our international engagements overseas.
Our rapidly growing cyber specialist practice supports clients with prevention, detection, resilience and response to advanced cyber attacks. From crisis events such as data breaches or unauthorised access to targeted intrusions and advanced persistent threats (APTs).
You could be responsible for unpicking breach indicators from live memory captures, deploying monitoring agents across an enterprise, reverse engineering custom malware samples, or helping clients plan their organisational response to a cyber attack. Or, you could be investigating a targeted intrusion; communicating the extent of a breach to a Chief Information Security Officer; or helping clients better understand the vulnerabilities of their IT environments by simulating the actions of real-world threat actors.
PwC is driving major change across information and cyber security by building a centralised model to provide security services across the entire member firm network. Mandated at the network level, Network Information Security (NIS) operates outside Information Technology (IT) and is responsible for this major program initiative, from definition of the security strategy to execution of the global Cyber Readiness Program, moving from local to centralised services.
Our mission is to identify, control and reduce the attack surface across the member firm network while increasing our adversaries’ cost of attack. In order to deliver the Cyber Readiness Program the NIS team is structured into the following Pillars:
NIS is building the first global cyber security function at PwC. Our mission protects 300,000 PwC members across 160 member firms worldwide as well as our global clients. If you are seeking an exciting career with scope to grow your security skills through major change on a global scale, then NIS will empower you to do so.
