The Internal Firm Services experience

Our opportunities are very hands-on, and you’ll get involved in all aspects of your role from day one. Your experience will be gained by a hands-on approach to the role - by ‘doing’ rather than ‘observing’. Naturally, it will be challenging, exciting, fast-paced and, most of all, rewarding. The nature of the roles also provide opportunities to develop other ‘soft skills’ which are highly valued by employers such as teamwork, leadership and influencing skills, amongst others.

Joining as an undergraduate or graduate

Across IFS we offer opportunities for students looking for an internship, completing a placement as part of their degree as well as graduate roles. You’ll work alongside graduate trainees and experienced professionals on live and interesting client projects. So you’ll get a good insight into working life at PwC.

By experiencing life inside one of the world’s largest professional services organisations, you’ll have a fantastic opportunity to  work on your commercial and personal skills. Working alongside specialists, you’ll be involved in projects to give you the best insight into what we’re about. You’ll have the opportunity to build networks with your colleagues and peer group.

For those looking to start their graduate career in IFS, our Internal Audit and IFS Risk Management teams offer these opportunities. As part of your graduate programme you’ll have the opportunity to work towards a professional qualification; we’d recommend checking individual job descriptions for more information.

We’re proud that our opportunities exceed expectations for those who join us; giving you responsibility from your first week and the support to really add value to your teams. You’ll be amazed at the technology you’ll have access to, and we give you the opportunity to use it each and every day.

We recognise that for the majority of those who join us, it’s the first time into a professional office environment and so you’ll have a buddy on hand to help you through your first few weeks, or months, to help you adjust to working life. It’s an exciting time for you and we’re there every step of the journey to help you excel and learn.

The future of Internal Firm Services

Our internal teams benefit from some of the latest technologies shared across our wider business functions, identifying opportunities to use these across our internal teams, helping our own PwC colleagues build on their digital upskilling and in turn benefiting their work.

Digital Academies have allowed our teams to think differently and explore the use of specialist programmes such as Tableau and Alteryx in their day-to-day work. We’re used to working with big volumes of data in many of our IFS teams, so there’s been some huge wins from utilising these technologies.

There’s a big emphasis on personal upskilling within our Internal teams - without a curious workforce, we wouldn’t be able to truly support the firm to reimagine the possible.

Always look further and stretch your learning, we’re there to fully support you and bring that learning full circle to support your personal development.
