Working in Legal

The Legal experience

This is a training contract like no other based in either Manchester or London. You’ll train in a stimulating, multifaceted environment and learn from exceptional people. You’ll quickly gain practical, hands on experience and lateral thinking skills working as part of a team who generate creative ways to tackle complex problems. We look for ambitious, motivated people with the drive to become the leading lawyers of the future.

Starting out in your chosen career will be exciting, stretching and challenging. But the rewards are well worth it. If you’re ready to invest plenty of effort, commitment, flexibility and passion, we’re ready to give you our full support and invest in your future.

If our legal training contract is not the right route for you, we have opportunities to join us in Entity Governance and Compliance (EGC). Our teams help clients navigate the increasing responsibility of regulation, risk and legal entity management.

Our client-facing team of governance professionals in EGC is seen as the market leader in the UK and plans to remain at the forefront of company secretarial and governance services as well as technology-enabled solutions. It's an exciting place to launch or develop your career by supporting companies, and the boards of directors that run them, in meeting their evolving legal, company secretarial, regulatory and governance obligations.

Joining as a trainee

Our two-week paid Legal Summer Vacation Scheme is the principal route towards securing a training contract with us. You’ll receive a highly competitive salary, join client meetings, conduct research and practise legal drafting while working and training directly alongside our expert lawyers. The two-week schemes for students run in July and will help you decide whether a career with us is right for you.

Life in Legal

If you’re working towards a professional qualification you’ll have time off to study, and once you’ve finished the training contract, we’ll carry on helping you develop your career with us. All routes offer you the opportunity to grow as an individual, to meet new people, and build lasting relationships that will stay with you for life. In return we need people who are resilient, willing to work hard, quick to learn, and who, above all, are passionate about going the extra mile to help our clients.

As Legal is part of the worldwide PwC network, we can offer you the kind of opportunities and responsibilities your talent deserves. While our international network is unparalleled in its global reach, in the UK we’re not so large as to be impersonal. Our culture is one of respect and helping our people be the best they can be.

Businesses face continuous pressure to modernise and we’re able to provide a full range of services to help our clients: from our analysis of the effectiveness of a legal function and the provision of proven consulting services, to embedding new LegalTech strategy in order to optimise business practice.
