Our video interview gives you the opportunity to tell us about yourself, and why you’ve applied to us.

The video interview is pre-recorded so you can take the interview at a time that suits you, but please make sure that you complete it in one sitting and at a time when you won’t be disturbed by others.

It’s fine to use a phone or a tablet, but we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer, in a Google Chrome web browser.

We know this may be a new experience for you, so here are some hints and tips to help you prepare.

If you’re experiencing any issues that you’re unable to resolve, please contact us via our recruitment queries webpage and quote your candidate reference number.

  1. Test that your technology is working before you start - is your internet working? Does your device have enough charge? Have you removed any likely distractions?
  2. Check the lighting and the sound - can you be seen and heard clearly?
  3. Check what you’re wearing is appropriate for an interview. You can find more information on our dress code in this video.
  4. Make sure you have enough time - the interview will last no longer than an hour in total.
  5. Throughout the interview you'll be presented with various questions and be asked to record your response to each. You may have made notes in advance and it’s okay to refer to these in the interview just try not to rely on them as this can come across as scripted. This is your opportunity to tell us why you're interested in a career with us. You can prepare in advance by thinking about the behaviours and skills we’re looking for and coming prepared with an understanding of PwC, what we do and the role you’re applying for. We would encourage you to do your research, including using the PwC website and referring back to the job description for your role.
  6. You’ll also be asked some scenario based questions, so if the world of professional services is new to you, you can build your knowledge of business vocabulary by visiting our “Business 101” glossary

Look at the camera, not at the screen

Looking at your camera when speaking gives the feeling of eye contact to the person on the other end.

Be aware of your lighting, positioning, and background

Pay close attention to how you look during setup. Ideally, place a source of light in front of you, and avoid sources of bright light (e.g. windows) directly behind you, as this can make it hard to see your face.

Do the practice questions

Taking the practice questions will help you get comfortable with the style and timing of a video interview. These are not your real interview questions, they won’t be seen by the recruitment team, and you can practise as many times as you like.

Be yourself

Interviewing can be nerve-wracking. Doing a video interview lets you take the interview in your own space and in your own time. Get comfortable and be confident in yourself.

What if I lose the connection during the interview?

Don't panic. Close your web browser, re-open it, go back to your interview invitation and start it again. There is a technical support team you can contact if you need to.
