Birmingham Organising Committee for the 2022 Commonwealth Games Ltd & Festival 2022 Limited - in liquidation

Background / liquidator information

Emma Cray, Matthew Hammond and Jen Whatcott of PwC were appointed as joint liquidators of Birmingham Organising Committee for the 2022 Commonwealth Games Ltd (“the OC”) and its subsidiary Festival 2022 Limited (“Festival”) on 15 March 2023 (together referred to as “the Companies”).

The Companies, based in Birmingham, were established in 2017 and 2020 respectively.  The OC  oversaw the delivery of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (“the Games”), and Festival oversaw the UK-wide celebration of creativity and innovation, delivered via a number of commissions.  As the Games completed in August 2022 and the commissions completed during December 2022, the businesses will now be wound down in a solvent manner, as is standard practice for every Games.
