Andy Hammond

Andy is a member of the UK Executive Committee and is the UK Head of Audit. He is also a member of the Audit Oversight Body and the Global Assurance Leadership Team. Prior to becoming the Head of Audit, Andy was the PwC UK Audit Regional Market Leader and a member of the firm’s Audit Executive and has also held a number of leadership roles within the UK firm’s central audit practice.
Andy is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and has over 30 years of experience, having joined PwC in 1995 and becoming a partner in 2009.
As part of his role on the UK Executive Committee Andy is responsible for setting and delivering the UK firm’s Audit strategy, including financial audit and non-financial assurance. This encompasses oversight of, and responsibility for audit quality.
Andy specialises in auditing large multinational listed groups particularly in the industrial manufacturing, pharmaceutical and hospitality & leisure sectors. He joined PwC after graduating from Birmingham University with an Economics & Economic History degree. Andy is also on the Board of Trustees of Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre and is Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
