Charles jointly leads PwC’s tax valuations group. He is a Chartered Accountant, a member of the Valuation Special Interest Group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has lectured on valuation both within PwC and externally.

He has specialised in providing valuation advice at PwC for over 15 years and has experience in leading and performing valuations of businesses, intangible assets, equity interests and financial instruments in different industries and countries for a variety of purposes including: lead advisory support for acquisitions and disposals; corporate recovery; valuations for various UK and international tax purposes; litigation support; and intangible asset and financial instrument valuations for both fiscal and financial reporting purposes.

For the last 10 years Charles has specialised in providing valuation advice across different industry sectors for UK and international tax and financial reporting purposes, including undertaking negotiations with HM Revenue & Customs and other tax authorities.  Charles’ clients range from high net worth individuals and SMEs to large multi-national corporations.

More recently, Charles has also been involved in advising companies and pension trustees on the particular valuation aspects of implementing asset backed funding arrangements for defined benefit pension schemes and has lead several projects in this area.
