James provides focused and pragmatic advice to clients on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. He has conducted a number of secondments which means that he has experience of the particular demands of in-house legal and HR practitioner roles and of managing internal stakeholders, ensuring that his advice suits the client's commercial needs.
James advises on both contentious and non-contentious employment law. He has advised on numerous restructuring projects, including collective redundancies, TUPE and changes to terms and conditions. He also acts regularly on employment due diligence work and corporate transaction support, as well as advising on exits, drafting settlement agreements and contracts and reviewing policies and handbooks. James has experience in dealing with employment litigation including unfair dismissal and discrimination claims, as well as disciplinary and grievance investigations. He regularly works along PwC colleagues on pay governance, IR35 and diversity projects.
