Mike is an accomplished programme leader with significant international experience advising business leaders on their toughest programmes, covering: regulatory challenges, business change, redress and remediation assignments, global audits, and new product development. He has significant experience in the financial services sector, with a particular specialism in fighting financial crime through successful programme delivery, where he has led global transformation programmes that cover the main financial crime domains, including KYC, AML, Sanctions and ABC.

Mike’s recent projects include:

  • enhancing value through delivery of an anti-financial crime programme.
  • leadership of an international, multi-disciplinary team of 700+, involving the application of technology solutions to bring process efficiency and increased quality to the management of financial crime risk.
  • protecting reputation through advising on the design and delivery of a regulatory transformation programme.
  • mitigating the impact of enforcement and ensuring that the client emerges stronger.
  • optimising ROI through a review of a complex change portfolio, providing insight on delivery status and alignment of projects to strategic objectives and planned benefits.

In Mike’s approach to programme leadership, he draws heavily on the skills he has gained in industry as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer to bring a practical and tailored approach. Mike believes that delivering programmes successfully needs more than stock answers and approaches; it needs collective experience and a balance of rigour and intuition.

Within PwC, Mike leads the Forensic Services Financial Services Practice and is the Banking & Capital Markets industry Leader for the Deals line of service. Mike is also passionate about seeing young people reach their full potential and working towards religious freedom for all, which fuels his commitment to the positions of leadership that he has in the charitable sector. He has over 20 years of experience in youth work, leading large volunteer teams and mentoring, where he has gained strong expertise in strategy, leadership, communication and governance.
