Stephen Etherington

Steve advises on employee benefits, particularly defined contribution workplace pension arrangements. He has been at PwC for 13 years, prior to which he worked at Legal & General in a variety of client facing and marketing roles.

He specialises in the design, review, selection, communication and implementation of DC schemes including mergers and acquisitions and defined benefit to defined contribution changes. He also provides ongoing advice and support to both trustees and governance committees for some ‘household’ names on occupational and contract based pensions. Recent work includes:

• Advising on the roll out of the new pension freedoms;
• The selection and implementation of employee benefits following a MBO;
• Modelling of prospective DC member outcomes for a FTSE100 business;
• Advising on investment design and retirement options in the post ‘freedom’ world; and
• The selection and implementation of a corporate SIPP for a large financial services client.

Steve also provides advice to the firm’s individual clients in relation to pension strategy and retirement benefits.
