Umang is a Partner at PwC where he is the UK Head of the Crisis and Digital and Forensic Investigations practice.
The Crisis and Digital and Forensic Investigations team at PwC in the UK is a 300+ person multi-disciplinary team made up of crisis management specialists, investigators, forensic accountants, forensic/legal technologists, intelligence and licensing and intellectual property / contract governance specialists.
Umang specialises in helping clients on a range of difficult and complex situations, including crisis caused by unexpected events. As well as helping clients effectively manage a crisis situation, he has also helped clients prepare for crisis events. Umang’s work involves advising clients in the areas of crisis communications, scenario planning, data analytics, continuity plan execution, post incident reviews and investigations. Umang is currently co-leading PwC’s response to supporting clients through the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.
Umang is a technologist by background and has spent his career in creating and using forensic, legal and artificial intelligence technology solutions to solve investigatory, compliance and legal issues.
He has also led or supported a broad range of UK and cross border investigations in both the public and private sectors including cases involving bribery and corruption, anti-trust / competition, fraud, financial mis-statement, data loss and cyber security breaches, employee misconduct, tax avoidance, regulatory compliance and 3rd party contract compliance.
Umang also advises in house legal teams and law firms on the effective use of legal and artificial intelligence technology to automate or make legal processes more efficient resulting in cost savings.
