Using a digital tablet at night

2025 was a year of change in the UK life insurance market, marked in particular by increased acquisition activity. Against this backdrop, the third year of IFRS 17 implementation signalled a period of accounting stability, alongside a continued focus on performance and execution across the sector.

Our latest publication, the fourth in our series since the introduction of IFRS 17, provides an in-depth analysis of the disclosures made by the UK’s largest life insurers in their 2025 full-year reporting.

The report also examines the UK Endorsement Board’s (UKEB) post-implementation review, which commenced this year and is expected to conclude by 1 January 2028. This represents the first substantive review of IFRS 17, preceding the IASB’s formal review.
