PwC UK has appointed Nick Seddon as a Senior Adviser to its Health Industries practice, bringing extensive experience of healthcare and life sciences leadership, strategy and transformation in the United Kingdom and United States.
The appointment forms part of PwC’s broader investment in strengthening its market capabilities and deepening its operating expertise across healthcare and life sciences.
Nick joins PwC following a decade in senior leadership roles at UnitedHealth Group, a Fortune 500 company, including as Chief Product Officer at Optum and CEO of Optum Genomics.
Previously, he held senior roles in the UK government and NHS, working at the heart of national healthcare policy, reform and delivery. Nick served as Special Adviser for Health and Life Sciences to Prime Minister David Cameron. In that role, he helped develop and implement strategies to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the NHS and advised on major fiscal, operational and public health priorities.
Nick is also a Visiting Professor at Imperial College London’s Institute of Global Health Innovation and serves on a number of advisory boards supporting life sciences and healthcare innovation. He was awarded an MBE in 2016.
His appointment brings together a distinctive combination of public and private sector experience, spanning strategy, operational transformation, innovation and growth, to drive economic and operating value across complex healthcare ecosystems.
At PwC, Nick will advise healthcare and life sciences organisations on strategy, public policy, operational transformation and value creation across the value chain.
