Strategy&, PwC's global strategy consulting business, has agreed to acquire Datasparq, a specialist AI and data consultancy, enhancing its ability to help private equity and corporate clients accelerate growth and unlock value through data and AI.
The acquisition will further enhance Strategy&'s fast-growing Value Creation business, combining its strategic, sector and functional expertise with Datasparq's capabilities in data engineering, applied AI and emerging agentic technologies. Together, they will help clients identify opportunities earlier, accelerate transformation programmes and drive sustained performance improvement through technology-enabled solutions.
As demand for practical AI-enabled transformation grows, the combined business will help clients translate data and insight into measurable outcomes. It will design, build and deploy AI and data solutions across the transaction lifecycle, from pre-deal diligence through to post-deal business transformation. This builds on PwC's extensive work across the private equity ecosystem, supporting over 90% of the world's largest PE investors and advising on more than half of PE deals globally through buy-side, sell-side and portfolio company engagements.
Following completion, Datasparq's team of AI engineers, data scientists and specialists will join Strategy&, creating a market-leading proposition for organisations looking to accelerate growth, improve decision making and realise the full potential of their data.
Nicola Preedy, Head of Deals, PwC UK, said:
“Our clients are increasingly focused on turning the potential of data and AI into measurable business outcomes. Bringing Datasparq into PwC will strengthen our ability to help organisations unlock, accelerate and sustain value across the deal lifecycle, supporting faster and more effective value creation through data, AI and advanced analytics.
"By combining strategic insight with deep technical expertise, we will be better positioned to help clients move more quickly from identifying opportunities to delivering results. This is particularly important in private equity, where speed, execution and the ability to realise investment potential remain key differentiators.”
John Wyllie, Chief Executive and founder of Datasparq, said:
“We're incredibly excited to be joining Strategy& and the wider PwC network. We've spent years building real depth in applied AI, product design and engineering, but what excites us most about this move is the breadth of additional capability we get to work alongside. There is deep industry and sector experience across the private equity and corporate sectors of PwC's Deals business, functional expertise well beyond data and AI, from operations to finance to supply chain. Combined with a global broader footprint, this gives us the opportunity to apply what we've built at a scale we could not have reached on our own."
The transaction is expected to complete in autumn 2026, subject to customary conditions.
