Private Business Leader comments on Budget measures for entrepreneurs - Budget 2026

Alan Gasser, UK Private Business Leader at PwC UK, said:

“The Chancellor’s focus on founders and growing British businesses is welcome news for UK entrepreneurs. Tripling the Trading Allowance from £1,000 to £3,000 should help reduce some of the barriers to getting started, while the Young Entrepreneurs Allowance and further support for women-led scale-ups recognise the need to broaden access to entrepreneurship and growth capital.

“The new 10% Founders’ Relief on lifetime gains of up to £10 million for qualifying founders of high-growth, innovative companies recognises the risks involved in building a business and strengthens the incentive to start, scale and stay in the UK.

“The real test will be in the detail, particularly the eligibility requirements, and how quickly these measures are implemented so that founders and growing businesses have the certainty they need to plan, invest and grow.”
