1. What does the appointment of administrators mean for me?
The appointment of administrators should not disrupt the current provision of services. Your Housing Association will continue to manage your property. As a result there should be no immediate change as a result of the administration.
The administrators will eventually seek to sell the property with you remaining as the tenant.
2. Will provision of services continue?
Yes. Services will continue to be provided as normal.
3. Am I at risk of having to move out?
The administrators do not intend to change any of the tenancy agreements. You will only be at risk if you do not comply with the terms of agreement for example by failing to pay your rent.
4. Is my rent going to increase?
The administrators anticipate that there will be no change to the current tenancy agreements.
5. What happens now the administrators are appointed?
The property blocks will continue to be managed as previously. The administrators are also working with your Housing Association to continue to provide the services.
In due course it is intended that the property blocks will be sold to a third party.
6. Who will buy the property blocks?
A full marketing process will be used to identify the purchaser.
7. Do I have to continue to make rent payments – to the same account?
You should continue to pay your rent as you have done previously. Failure to pay would be a breach of your tenancy agreement and may put you at risk of action.
8. Who do I phone if there is a maintenance issue?
Your Housing Association will remain responsible for ongoing building management and you should continue to contact them in the usual manner with any property or maintenance related issues.
9. Who can I contact at the Local Authority / Housing Association / Homes and Communities Agency?
Your initial point of contact should be the Housing Association. Please continue to contact them in the usual manner.
10. I have more questions, who do I ask?
