Rachael Wilkinson, Mark Toby Banfield and Adam Seres of PwC LLP have been appointed as Joint Administrators of South Coast Insulation Services Limited.
The appointment was made on 2 February 2026.
Headquartered in Fareham with depots in Devon and Liverpool, the Company specialises in delivering domestic insulation and renewable energy services, including cavity wall, loft insulation, ventilation improvements and air-source heat pump installations.
The Company has faced several challenges in recent months, including a sharp reduction in profits and cash flow pressures arising from materially lower installation volumes under the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) schemes funded by the Government until March 2026. The Company relied on these schemes as its primary revenue stream. However, due to the imminent conclusion of these schemes, and uncertainty due to a recent government consultation process regarding the future of such schemes, energy suppliers paused new commitments, adversely affecting the Company’s orderbook and financial position.
Despite extensive efforts to stabilise the Company’s financial position and explore restructuring and sale options, no viable solvent solution was secured. As a result, the directors concluded that the Company was insolvent and unable to continue trading. Following appointment, the Joint Administrators have now commenced a controlled wind down of the Company’s operations.
Regrettably, the Company ceased trading with immediate effect. Eight employees have been retained to support essential wind‑down activities and book debt collection , while it was necessary to make all remaining 92 redundant upon appointment. Affected employees will receive support with the statutory claims process through the Redundancy Payments Service and the Company’s appointed employee services agent.
The administration appointment affects the Company only. Any other group entities remain solvent and under the control of their respective directors.
