Following the launch of the Wates Principles on 12 December and with the the new Corporate Governance regulations for private companies applying from 1 January 2019, there is a lot of detail for businesses to get to grips with and it is important that they recognise the key word in the application of these new requirements is active.
Directors will need to be able to demonstrate that they are taking their responsibilities seriously and provide clear evidence that they are doing so, to both the Financial Reporting Council and key stakeholders.
