PwC’s Egypt Technology and Innovation Centre is helping build technology capability across EMEA, developing specialist talent in Egypt to support complex client work in AI, cyber, cloud and data.

From shared investment to stronger capability

When the Egypt Technology and Innovation Centre (ETIC) was established in 2022, the goal was to build shared technology capability across the PwC network: expanding access to specialist expertise and helping member firms respond to increasingly complex client needs.

Four years on, ETIC is bringing that ambition to life. A joint venture between PwC UK (50%), PwC Middle East (25%), PwC Germany (20%) and PwC Netherlands (5%), it now employs more than 2,100 people across 17 technology disciplines and six services.

It complements capabilities in home markets by bringing together teams with different skills, experience and locations to create the right combination of expertise for clients.

The ambition for ETIC was an investment in a shared technology capability designed to complement the strengths of our existing teams, expand access to specialist expertise and help member firms respond to increasingly complex client needs.

Complementary technology capability

Egypt has a large and growing pool of technology talent, supported by a strong pipeline of graduates. ETIC draws from a talent funnel of more than 90,000 candidates, with around 90 to 100 people joining each month through a rigorous recruitment process.

Developing that talent is central to the model. ETIC invests in professional qualifications, technical training, leadership development and interpersonal skills.

The centre is deliberately different from a traditional offshore delivery model. Its teams combine consulting expertise, engineering capability and innovation across the technology lifecycle, enabling them to work across design and build as well as implementation and managed services.

ETIC demonstrates what shared investment can achieve. By developing specialist capability and connecting it with teams across the network, PwC can respond more effectively to changing client needs and build long-term technology capability.

Strengthening through shared expertise

With around 700 professionals supporting UK-led engagements, ETIC teams work alongside UK colleagues, increasing access to specialist capability and help us respond more flexibly to changing client demand.

The model works best when expertise flows in both directions. ETIC teams gain experience across different markets and client challenges, while UK and other member-firm teams benefit from additional technical expertise, reusable assets and approaches developed elsewhere in the network.

For the UK, this supports a broader approach to building a sustainable technology business: continuing to invest in UK-based skills and careers while drawing on complementary expertise across the network.

ETIC demonstrates what shared investment can achieve when it is built around people, skills and collaboration. By developing specialist capability in Egypt and connecting it with teams across the network, PwC can respond more effectively to changing client needs and build long-term technology capability across EMEA.
