IR35 - Get ready for 2020

Following on from our seminar in June when we first spoke about IR35, the Government has now published its response to the off-payroll working rules and IR35 consultation and associated draft Finance Bill clauses which will take effect from April 2020.

Broadly speaking the response aligns the rules across both the public and private sectors and introduces some much needed clarity surrounding the exemption for small businesses. We have also been provided with information concerning the end users responsibility for passing IR35 determinations, with justification, down the supply chain to the worker and ultimate fee payer.

The impact of these reforms should not be underestimated, and arguably represent the most significant changes to the operation of employment taxes for many years. So how do businesses make best use of the lead time towards implementation, to ensure they are fully prepared for what will be significant operational and commercial changes?

Please join us at our seminar which will provide practical insights for businesses that will be impacted by these changes. Key areas we will cover include:

  • An overview of the proposed new regime and the extent of the operational challenges that most organisations are now facing

  • Insight from the experience gained in assisting public sector clients implement the changes in 2017 and lessons learned

  • Practical guidance on what companies need to do now to get ready for the changes

  • How PwC technology may be able to assist your businesses preparations

This seminar is aimed at Finance Directors, HR Directors, Procurement Leads, and Tax Managers.
