Being better informed: September 2023

August brought a number of notable developments, despite the summer break. In the banking sector, HM Treasury and the FCA provided an update on requirements for ‘reasonable provision’ of cash access services for personal and business users, and the FCA commenced its review of firms’ treatment of Politically Exposed Persons.

In asset management, the FCA published the results of its thematic review into how authorised fund managers conduct their assessment of value (AoV) requirements for authorised funds. The FCA observed significant improvements in the quality of AoV since its previous review, but notes there is still room for improvement across a number of areas.
