At COP, we see climate negotiators primarily come together to discuss the policy issues that matter. What I've seen here in Dubai is a shift out of the negotiating rooms and into the business and government of getting the job done.

So it's been really interesting to see how what happens in the negotiating room is not as important as it used to be, and actually it's what happens outside that's critical. And that's the work of sectors collaborating together and also of countries and governments working together with business to deliver on the climate agenda.

One of the biggest trends we're seeing this year is a shift from public finance to mobilising private capital. We hosted an event at the UK Pavilion on Finance Day, which brought together the multilateral development banks, development finance institutions from country governments and also the private sector and institutional investors such as sovereign wealth funds, to discuss how they can unblock the challenges of delivering climate finance into all sectors of the economy.

So for me, what's critical coming out of COP is that organisations embrace the reforms that are needed to drive much greater investment scaled into all countries and sectors. To that end, I was very proud to launch the UK Green Cities and Infrastructure Programme this week. This will work with over ten countries internationally to help them ready their infrastructure pipelines for investment to deliver the climate action we all need to see.
