Her Tech Talent

Helping to make technology a more diverse and inclusive working environment

Why aren’t there more women in technology?

Our mission is for women to be equal participants in creating and developing the new tech businesses, products and services that shape our world.

But this mission isn’t so simple. Women are underrepresented in our industry and part of our challenge is changing the perception of what a career in technology offers. We believe that increasing the number of women in tech will add essential diversity to our sector and help inspire the next generation.

Her Tech Talent is PwC’s programme designed to tackle some of these issues.

How we’re inspiring women and girls to consider a career in technology

Explore some of the research and resources we have to support women and girls at key stages of their personal and professional lives, helping to create a pipeline of future tech talent.

The technology gender gap starts at school and persists through every stage of girls’ and women’s lives. According to our own research, school girls are being put off tech subjects and careers and only 3% of them say a career in technology is their first choice.

Graduates and apprentices

For those who want a blend of work experience and study, we offer Technology Degree Apprenticeships to school and college leavers, and graduate programmes to university leavers.

To change the ratio and boost the diversity of future technologists, we need to inspire students to consider a career in technology. Tech We Can provides free lesson plans and resources for teachers and schools in the UK.
