The outcome

Enhanced decision-making to enable business growth

How we helped Chapel Down blend tradition with technology – implementing a unified technology platform that drives smarter decisions, scalable operations and a foundation for growth in the English wine industry.

Setting the scene

Chapel Down is one of the UK’s most celebrated wine producers, with around 10% of the UK’s planted vineyards and 34% Off Trade Market Share. With growing demand for English sparkling wine and a national market for sparkling wine of 200 million bottles per year, the opportunity for scale is significant.

To meet its growth ambitions while navigating the complexities of a rapidly expanding market, Chapel Down needed a scalable, integrated technology solution to streamline operations and enhance decision-making from vineyard management to customer engagement.

At the core of our tech strategy is the work we do with our strategic alliance partners. We help our clients, such as Chapel Down, accelerate their progress - whether their goal is transformation, breakthrough innovation, cloud and AI-driven change or greater operational efficiency.

We use data every day, from every part of our process, from creating the wine itself, understanding the blends, the grapes, through to how it's performing in supermarkets, in bars, on our website, or even how it's selling here in our shop.

Our work

We worked closely with Chapel Down to deliver a scalable, insight-driven business platform that could support its growth ambitions. The transformation involved implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for finance, inventory and assembly management, and Dynamics 365 Sales to manage the full sales lifecycle. These systems were integrated with Shopify, Chapel Down's eCommerce and point-of-sale platform, to create a single, unified data model across the business.

For the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) elements we partnered with TVision, a specialist in beverage industry software, to tailor the solution to Chapel Down's needs. Our team worked collaboratively with the business to understand operational challenges and ensure the solution reflected the company’s context and goals.

The implementation was fast paced: D365 Business Central was delivered in eight months and D365 Sales in just four.

The result is an integrated set of technologies that enables real-time reporting and supports informed, data-rich decision-making across all areas of the business.

We implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for its finance, inventory and assembly management, as well as Dynamics 365 Sales for the sales lifecycle. Everything was integrated with Shopify, Chapel Down's eCommerce and POS platform, to create a single, unified data model.

Our impact

The new platform enables daily, channel-specific reporting and supports complex forecasting, helping the business respond quickly to market demand. The transformation has empowered teams to work more efficiently, reduced manual processes, and embedded data at the heart of strategic planning - all while preserving the craft and quality that define the brand.

From grape to glass, Chapel Down now operates with greater agility, confidence and clarity. With a scalable foundation in place, it is positioned to grow its operations and revenue.
