Matthew Cross

As Transformation Leader for PwC’s UK Deals business, Matthew is responsible for working with the leaders of each of our Deals businesses and helping them drive technology adoption and operating model change.

Matthew has been leader of our Financial Due Diligence (FDD) team since 2019. The team includes over 50 partners and focuses on private equity and corporate clients through 7 industry sector teams and 3 regional teams. His role also includes close collaboration with the leaders of the other major FDD teams across our global network.

As a client facing partner, Matthew leads both buy side and sell side due diligence projects for companies and financial investors covering Financial, Commercial, Tax, IT and Operational aspects, with over 25 years of experience in the TMT sector.

Matthew focuses primarily on fast growing software as a service (saas) businesses, but also has experience across a number of other sectors including cyber security, IT services, semiconductors, telecommunications, aerospace & defence and technology equipment manufacturers.

Matthew has worked on many cross border transactions covering the UK, USA, Continental Europe, and Asia Pacific. His clients include listed & mid-market technology companies, inbound investors from the US and Asia and a wide range of global and mid-market private equity funds.

Earlier in his career, Matthew spent 3 years on secondment to PwC Australia undertaking financial due diligence projects in the Asia Pacific region for a mix of private equity and corporate clients.
