Everybody's talking about AI and they're talking about AI in higher education. There's ChatGPT, there's generative AI.

Are we all going to be sitting there just talking to a computer and getting it to teach us?

Well, the problem with that is that education is all about a community experience. It's about being together and learning with peers. And so when AI actually separates us from our peers, it starts to become a lonely place. And when it’s lonely, it's disengaging and that's where a lot of our motivation comes from.

So the real future of AI in education is around enhancing human connection rather than replacing it.

Can we say, ‘Oh, well you're asking a question and some of your peers are asking the same question - let's get you together to talk about the topic.’

It's a very different mindset around it and I think that's the direction where AI is going.
