General Update - Hearing on 11 December 2009 regarding Report to the Court - 04/12/09 As Updated 10/12/09

All updated information is in bold below.

This update concerns a Court hearing that is due to take place on 11 December 2009, at the request of the Judge assigned to LBIE's administration proceedings.

During the course of the recent High Court hearing to determine the proper treatment of certain money received by LBIE after the time it entered administration (see Client Money Update - High Court Application Regarding Post Administration Money - 21/10/09), Mr. Justice Briggs indicated that he would be assisted, in his role as the Judge assigned to LBIE's administration proceedings, by a hearing to inform the Court as to relevant issues which have arisen in the administration and as to applications which are currently pending or planned by the Joint Administrators.

Accordingly, the Joint Administrators have filed at Court a report which describes the progress made in the administration and outlines those issues and applications that are likely to come before the Court in the coming months. A copy of the Report can be accessed here.

A public hearing is due to take place at the Royal Courts of Justice (Strand, London) on 11 December 2009, during which it is proposed that leading counsel for the Joint Administrators present the report to Mr. Justice Briggs and respond to any questions the Judge may have in relation to it. Any person with an interest in the subject matter may attend.

The Joint Administrators will continue to communicate with interested parties through this website.  Please continue to check this website for information on this and other matters relating to the administration of LBIE.

Please direct any queries in relation to the above to clientpositionresponses@lbia-eu.com.

10/12/09 Update: Please note that the above hearing is scheduled to take place at 10.30am on 11 December 2009, in Court 59 of the Royal Courts of Justice.
