Environmental, Social and Governance factors or ESG is evolving the way in which we live and how businesses operate.

It is evident that ESG transformation is the next major driver of change, value creation and delivering on ESG is the reality of doing business in the 21st Century. And my question to you is: are you ready for this shift and do you know how to respond?

Thinking about tax, also covering people and legal functions, there is a very strong connection to each of the ‘E’, the ‘S’ and the ‘G.’ From tax incentives and environmental taxes to diversity and inclusion, there are so many areas of focus that have the potential to create value and mitigate risks for any organisation.

A big part of getting prepared is keeping up with the increasing amount of ESG regulation. We are seeing a rise in the use of comparative ratings for companies, which is of interest to policy makers, investors, but also consumers.

All this means that ESG must be integrated into the core corporate strategy, and the Tax function has a vital role in moulding a businesses’ ESG journey. The role of tax, legal and people functions in shaping ESG performance shouldn't be underestimated.

If you are ready to discuss ESG and what it means for you then please get in touch. The challenges to manage are big, but the opportunities are even bigger. Thank you.
