Business transformation journey for Kantar

It has been fundamentally transformational for the business, we have approached things from a totally different perspective in terms of what is the role of a manager, and what is the role of HR

Gordon HoltshausenHead of Country HR Services

Overview

Kantar’s prior HR systems had experienced several challenges including inaccurate data, a lack of basic functionality, and fragmented information across several HR platforms. An employee survey gave HR a low satisfaction rating. This prompted an overhaul of the global HR systems into one single source – to provide a foundation for a transformed HR function. PwC was selected through a competitive process as the firm that best understood Kantar’s immediate needs and objectives for this new HR transformation system, and successfully implemented Workday for all 28,000 employees across 77 markets on time (9 months) and within budget.

Client Solution

Kantar had chosen Workday, and our team of certified Workday consultants, with HR change and programme management experts enabled us to effectively implement Workday HR on time, in budget, and to the expected quality. The goal was to deliver a standardised global Workday platform as a single source of truth and support their change journey, with Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS) access for the first time.

Our trusted, transparent and collaborative approach underpinning our work allowed a strong partnership with Kantar as we met their business needs.

Our Workday experience allowed us to lead Kantar through the steps necessary to design a functional solution, and supporting integrations to implement global HR standards within Workday across 77 markets, while being flexible to each country’s legal requirements. The 9 month process included global and local design workshops, iterative configuration and review activities, and robust testing for each market.

The Result

Kantar are delighted with their new, global Workday HR system, which facilitates the successful transformation of Kantar’s business and HR services around the role and responsibilities of managers and HR, while harmonising the global business processes and improving the employee and manager experience, giving an immediate return on investment.
