Sam Taylor is an Investment Manager in the PwC Raise | Ventures Series A team. He joined PwC after gaining his degree in Biological Sciences from University of Manchester and completing various research roles, with specialisms in biotechnology, gene editing and genomics. During his time at PwC Sam has worked in Strategy& on Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology engagements, including growth strategies, M&A restructuring and buy-side commercial due diligence.
As an Investment Manager, Sam's role is to manage deal origination up to execution and close of Series A deals. This involves sector knowledge and thought leadership, company assessment, client advisory, investor networking, term sheet reviews and due diligence support.
Sam's sector focus is on DeepTech opportunities, with a view to ensure frontier technologies acquire the funds they need to move from Seed to Growth phase. Sam regularly researches new technologies to stay up to date on developments such as Quantum Computing, Neural AI, Novel Energy, and Genomics.
Outside of work, Sam regularly plays football, and enjoys travelling. An avid fan of Swansea City FC, he often likes to travel to matches when possible.
