ESG Special Webcast: Reflection and action for Year 2 of climate change reporting

Date: 4 October 2022
Time: 16.00 - 16.45am
Location: Virtual

Join us for this special ESG Accounting and Reporting Update webcast to explore the current state of climate change reporting in the UK and globally, what the Regulators have said, and what you should be focussing on for the next reporting cycle.

Companies' response to the risks and opportunities posed by ESG, and in particular climate change, are at the forefront of many stakeholders’ minds. And with the introduction of climate change reporting extended to more companies through the Companies Act, and global developments, such as the work of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), stakeholder scrutiny is set to intensify.

The latest reporting cycle has seen premium-listed companies’ report on mandatory ‘comply or explain basis’ against the Task Force on Climate-related Disclosures (TCFD) for the first time. Both the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) have noted progress in this first year but are clear that there is more for companies to do.

What will be covered?

  • Emerging reporting practices from the first year of mandatory reporting on the TCFD
  • Global developments and their implications for UK companies
  • Key findings from the FRC and FCA reviews
  • Areas of focus for the next reporting cycle
