Alan Milburn is Chair of PwC’s Health Industries Oversight Board. He is an expert in strategic thinking and health policy. Alan was an MP for 18 years and served for five years in Tony Blair’s Cabinet, first as Chief Secretary to the Treasury from 1998 to 1999, and subsequently as Secretary of State for Health until 2003. At the Department of Health, he led a radical reform programme of health and social care services including the creation of a market within the NHS, autonomous NHS Foundation Trusts, choice for patients and devolution of decision-making.
Alan is currently Chair of the Government's Social Mobility and Child Poverty Commission and Chancellor of Lancaster University.
