Suzanne Nethaway

Real Estate Team Lead, Legal, PwC United Kingdom

Having spent over 18 years in private practice I have taken the experience I’ve gained to build a strong and dynamic Real Estate legal team within PwC. I enjoy collaborative working and novel solutions to complex legal problems and intend to grow the real estate practice over the coming months to provide the best service for our clients.

Suzanne specialises in a broad range of real estate matters. She provides commercial advice for large high-profile acquisitions and disposals, as well as assisting on major refinancing projects and multi-million pound development work. Her clients include pension funds, corporate occupiers, lenders, and family trusts. She provides real estate advice on corporate-led transactions and business reorganisations. Suzanne also works for inbound corporates looking for a UK base and supports retailers and corporate occupiers in managing their real estate portfolio. Her work often involves cross-discipline advice, with novel solutions to transaction hurdles.

I enjoy providing clear commercial advice to my clients with the aim of being their trusted advisor with a real understanding of my client’s business and goals.

Suzanne also regularly advises on the real estate considerations on the solvent / insolvent winding up of companies who hold real estate assets. Suzanne gives pre-appointment advice to banks and directly advises IPs re the sale of properties over which they were appointed. Within the stressed/distressed space, she identifies and advises regarding initial construction, planning, borrowing entities that are dissolved or in liquidation/administration, solving issues with the extent of the bank’s debt, enforcement, management companies, right to manage companies, and considering how to achieve best value on sale.

Suzanne also advises on initial structuring of real estate developments as well as exit strategies (whether within the context of a wider corporate restructuring programme or as stand-alone transactions).
